After a week-long absence the Atlas Podcasts have returned!

Last week, (May 25-27, 2008) Atlas hosted the annual Atlas Liberty Forum in Atlanta, GA. The Liberty Forum had over 270 participants representing over 120 public policy organizations from 50 countries and 26 U.S. states. We were privileged to have Frank Hanna, CEO of Hanna Capital, and longtime think tank collaborator and contributor, offer a keynote adress at the Sir Antony Fisher International Memorial Award Dinner. Please enjoy the video and audio from this event. In the coming weeks will will feature interviews and excerpts from sessions at the Liberty Forum. So keep an eye out for more!

During this interview, Tanja speaks candidly about the Free Society Institute including the biggest challenges that they face with the Slovenian government. The Free Society Institute was founded in 2006 but has already accomplished a great deal in the last year.

According to the Freedom of the World Report published by the Fraser Institute (Canada), Slovenia has dropped 16 places on the ranking since 2006, putting it in 91st place along with Turkey, Mozambique, Ghana, Azerbaijan, and Papua New Guinea.

In June 2007, Marcela Prieto, the executive director for the Instituto de Ciencia Politica (ICP, Colombia) and editor of Perspectiva magazine, paid a visit to Atlas during her trip to Washington, D.C., where she met with government and think tank leaders to discuss U.S.-Colombian relations. Atlas’s Romulo Lopez had the opportunity to sit down with Marcela to discuss the free trade agreement between Colombia and the U.S. that is currently being debated in Congress, as well as to learn about how ICP has been involved.

At the Liberty Forum, Allison discussed how Ayn Rand’s ideas of “rational self-interest” animate his approach to business, and life in general. He also spoke of his involvement in establishing programs that educate young people about the morality of free enterprise.
